Diversity (DEI) Statement
«Diversity is a key element in the aim to achieve excellence.»
This reflection leads to an understanding that it is neither optional nor merely a regulatory obligation. It is a key plank to strategic and sustained success. The current environment - marked by strong transformative forces, like changing client and customer requirements, digitalization, a global pandemic, and a new commitment to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) – is re-enforcing this and demands a considered, authentic, and well thought out position and approach.
At Schulthess Zimmermann & Jauch, we work with clients to build diverse leadership teams. The following areas are critical engagements:
- Leadership teams: We help clients to consider the types of diverse talent that would complement their organisation. We help map the landscape and commit to develop diverse candidate slates.
- Thought leadership: The Board & CEO Practice comprehensively integrates this position and provides thought leadership and guidance on diversity and gender balance at the firm and in our client work. For the practice’s broader engagement on Transformation Board support, Board Dynamics and Board appointments, diversity and gender diversity are key topics.
- Learning process: Our consultants and research teams are fully engaged and regularly receive training both internally and externally to reflect on strong practices and challenging the status quo for the best outcomes.

Accountability to our DEI processes and strategies are enforced and demonstrated at all levels.
Continuous Learning Process
Schulthess Zimmermann & Jauch believes that DEI efforts and commitments are part of a continual process of assessment and introspection, which allows for productive and progressive learning and unlearning. True DEI requires constant monitoring and evaluation centered around learning at an individual, group, and institutional level. This principle allows for a critical lens and creates a competitive advantage in how we manage our business and meet our client’s objectives.
DEI as defined by Schulthess Zimmermann & Jauch:
Diversity: A collective mix of different identities and affinities amongst people within our organization that includes individual characteristics, values, beliefs, and experiences.
Equity: Schulthess Zimmermann & Jauch believes true equity happens when the predictability of success or failure is not based on any aspect of one’s identity.
Inclusion: We strive and are committed as a firm to creating an inclusive environment in which all employees and stakeholders feel a sense of belonging, enabling them to contribute to our mission and goals
